           John Dugan is a horror icon, best known for his portrayal of Grandpa in the original “THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE” released in 1974. He also appeared in the 1994 sequel “TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE NEXT GENERATION”

 

           Born in 1953, John Dugan is originally from Brazil, Indiana. He was active in the drama club at Brazil High School. He went on to attend the prestigious Goodman Theatre in Chicago.

 

           In 1973, while performing children’s theater in Chicago, John Dugan was contacted by his brother-in-law, Kim Henkel. Henkel was writing and producing a film titled THE TEXAS CHASINSAW MASSACRE.

 

           John packed up and headed to Texas, and at the age of 20, donned the makeup to portray Grandpa. The film quickly became a cult hit and now has achieved legendary status.

 

           MONSTROSITY marks John Dugan’s first film appearance after a long hiatus. He is also working on the film SHUDDER which will reunite him with TCM cast-mates Gunnar Hansen and Ed Neil.

 

           Dugan currently resides in Louisville, KY and has become a regular on the horror show and film festival circuit.
