World Independent Film Expo changing venues!
Friday, March 13th, 2009
The First Annual World Independent Film Expo, slated for May 15-17, 2009 will be changing venues.
“The Leeds Theatre is a wonderful historic theatre, but the event has grown to the point that we simply needed more room than the Leeds Theatre can offer us, but look forward to working with them at a later date on other projects. The fact that we had to move the event to bigger and better accommodations shows that we are on the right track in putting together the event that the film community wants to attend.” said promoter Anthony Hudson
The show will be held at both the University Theater and the Galaxy Entertainment Center in Richmond, KY. Seminars, celebrity photo-ops and autographs, and film screenings will be held in the conference rooms at Galaxy, and evening film performances will be held at the University Theater. After-party and live music will be at Champions Grill located inside the Galaxy Center.
Saturday night’s entertainment will be provided by the masters of metal, ‘BATTERY.’ a Metallica tribute band.
Foothills Transportation will provide FREE shuttle service between the two venues, and the Galaxy Center is within walking distance of four major hotels. You can have a great time all weekend, without running the risk of drinking and driving!! Leave your car at the hotel and enjoy all the great films, seminars, celebrities and events.
Some of the celebrity guests scheduled to appear include Daniel Emery Taylor (Return of Swamp Thing, Road Trip), John Dugan (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), artist Joel Robinson, directors George Bonilla (Hell-ephone), Mark Poole (Dead Moon Rising), Jerry Williams (Purvos) and Cherokee Hall (Mountain Mafia), Jim O’Rear (Star Trek IV) author Nic Brown (Werewolf for Hire), stunt man and martial arts expert David Fultz (The Edison Death Machine), and, of course, the venerable Billy W. Blackwell (Hell-ephone, The Kane Chronicles, Monstrosity).
