INDIANA JONES AND THE MUMMY’S SKULL, a short film produced by ZP International, was recently awarded ‘BEST FAN FILM’ at the 2009 Fright Night Film Fest. The interesting thing about this film is that it features a cast made up entirely of 6-12 year-olds.
George Bonilla made the fan film as a means to teach the art of filmmaking to some of his neices and nephews, and also as a full test of all of the equipment prior to shooting HELL-EPHONE.
The film, shot if Georgia, stars Brooks Patterson, Gehrig Patterson, Reese Patterson, Adeline Dockery, Brooke Dockery, Cole Dockery, and Knox Kiernan.
“This is incredible,” said George Bonilla, “I did this project mainly for the kids, but never expected to pick up any awards with it. We were submitting HELL-EPHONE for its festival run, and Frank (Santoroski) suggested that we should go ahead and enter INDIANA JONES in the short film category. ‘People seem to really like this film, he said, I’ve heard from a few that it reminds them of their early days of filmmaking when they were kids.”
The film has already spawned a sequel, INDIANA JONES AND THE LOST DUTCHMAN’S TREASURE currently in pre-production.
